The short version. Your fingerprint photo never leaves your phone. The Cirelle Laurier app captures and processes the image on your device, and the only thing sent for fabrication is a black-and-white, engraving-ready outline labeled by position only. We do collect the names you provide for your order, but we store them in a separate database from your designs — your identity is never embedded in the engraving file itself. The original photo is discarded; the finished black-and-white version of your print is yours to keep if you choose to save it.

What stays on your device (and only your device)

  • The original photo of your finger. It is held in memory only long enough to create your engraving outline, then discarded — it is never saved to our servers, and we do not retain it.
  • The finished black-and-white version of your print, which is yours to keep. If you choose to save it, it stays on your device under your control.
  • Your password for your saved files, stored in the device Keychain. You can view it any time using Face ID / Touch ID.

What we process, and where

All image processing — converting your photo into an engraving outline — happens on your device. We do not upload your photo. We do not use cloud processing for anything that touches your print.

What is transmitted, and how we keep it separated

Two things are sent to us when you place an order, and we deliberately keep them apart:

  • Your finished, black-and-white engraving file, labeled by position only (Panel A, Panel B …) and containing no identity. It is delivered to you as an encrypted, password-protected attachment.
  • The name(s) you assign to each panel, stored in a separate database from the engraving files.

The two are associated only by panel position — the position of a panel is how a name is lined up with its print for fabrication. Because the name is never written into the engraving file, and the files and names live in different systems, neither dataset on its own identifies whose print it is.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Your original photo: never leaves your device; discarded on-device immediately after your engraving outline is created, and never retained by us.
  • The names you provide: deleted on the same schedule as your order data — after your order is fulfilled, and no later than 30 days of confirmed delivery.
  • The engraving file used to make your piece: deleted within 30 days of confirmed delivery. You'll receive a confirmation when your data is deleted.
  • The black-and-white version of your print: yours to keep. If you save it, it is kept by you on your device — we keep nothing afterward.

Tracking and analytics

The app does no tracking and contains no advertising or analytics. It makes no network requests in the course of capturing or building your design.

Payments

Purchases happen on our website through our payment provider — not inside the app. The app contains no payment functionality.

Your choices

You may decline camera access (the app can't capture a print without it). You may delete your saved files at any time. Consent for biometric fingerprint capture is collected at checkout before you receive your design link.

Children

Cirelle Laurier is intended for adults purchasing keepsakes. Where a parent or legal guardian captures a child's print on the child's behalf, they do so under their own consent and control; as with all captures, the image is processed on the device and is never retained by us beyond the fulfillment window described above.
